I'm really into jogging and I'm a marathon runner. For me, running is pure pleasure. Did you know that after 30 to 40 minutes of jogging, your body begins to release endorphins, which are neurotransmitters that reduce stress levels and produce a feeling of pleasure and well-being?
"This is a passion I like to share with my guests. Jogging is a complete sport that you can do anywhere and which doesn't require any special preparation. Throw on a T-shirt; shorts and running shoes, and you're off. Perfect for people who travel!
Several times a month I organize jogging tours of Strasbourg. We follow a 10-kilometer course through the city, going around Petite France, the European Parliament, the Orangerie and along the banks of the Ill river. It takes between 45 minutes and an hour and you don't need to be a marathon runner to keep up with me - I let who's with me set the pace! And play tour guide, as well!
My business clients really like the idea. We run in the evening, before dinner. It's a great way to get rid of the stress of a day filled with meetings and negotiations. When we get back to the hotel, we enjoy a glass of one of the region's good white wines - we are, after all, on the wine route!
Mercure knows how essential well-being is. We want our guests to feel good. We want them to like our hotel, its personality and hospitality.
Here at the Mercure Strasbourg St Jean, we've got a light filtering system that changes throughout the day and we carefully monitor the sounds and scents that are diffused throughout the hotel. In winter, we light a big fire in the fireplace. We've installed a massaging armchair and set up a massage service. We put complimentary bottles of still and sparkling mineral water in the rooms for our guests, along with the possibility of enjoying hot drinks like regular and herbal teas. And we have a basket of apples on hand at reception for guests who'd like something to munch on. Sound tempting to you? Then, come to Strasbourg. We'd love to see you - just remember to pack your running shoes, of course!"
